What Positive Training Is.
Positive Reinforcement training is a fast, fun way to train your dog.  It is not
a method by which we just throw treats around.  what we actually do is
manipulate the consequences for your dog to get the kind of behaviors you
want.

These same positive motivation techniques are used for training all types of
animals, from dolphins to lions, tigers and wolves...oh my!  Imagine putting a
choke collar on any one of these animals and getting them to listen!

Dogs do what works.  In other words, they do what is rewarding to them.
They will also stop doing something if it gets them nothing.  In positive
training, we increase the frequency of good behavior by making it more
rewarding to the dog to be good.  This could mean giving him a treat or
playing with a friend or a multitude of other things he might like.  By with-
holding the fun stuff when undesirable behaviors occur, we then decrease the
frequency of those as well.

Positive training is easy and fun.  It creates trust and respect between you and
your dog.

Why positive training is different than traditional training:

stress is greatly reduced for owner and dog
training is fun
no side-effects of punishment
